The Olive Grove Story | Handpicked, Cold-Pressed & Purely Montagu
The olive grove was first planted in 2010.
Today, there are 350 thriving olive trees, a mix of Frantoio, Mission, and Coratina varieties, each chosen for its unique character and flavour.
In 2016, our young grove yielded its first true harvest, producing 130 litres of pure, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. Since then, the annual harvest has become a much-loved ritual. We still pick, press, and preserve each season’s olives by hand, continuing the quiet tradition that connects us to the land.
The olive oil and table olives we produce are enjoyed in our guesthouse kitchen and bottled in small batches for guests to take home — a simple, authentic souvenir and taste of Montagu’s sunshine and soil.
